I've just become a dad in the past few weeks and a totally new world has opened up in front of me. Getting all the right things for your newborn could be a challenge for the "the new dad or new mom". Presents from family and friends usually help you fill in the gaps or add to that limited collection you thought you had enough of! Two gifts that I received that really helped and stood out from the pack of gifts were from Bangkok Babycakes because they were organized in such a beautiful and creative fashion (like the mini golf bag or new year gift basket of baby goodies), but more importantly they included all the things you could actually use ranging from diapers to clothing, baby toiletries to toys. So I really recommend that if you're going to visit a family who just had a baby, why not go in style and take one of these gift sets to your loved ones and I'm sure they will love and appreciate both the looks and the usefulness of these wonderful baby gift sets!

มีหลายคนถามว่า มาเริ่มทำเบบี้เค็กได้อย่างไร? ได้ไอเดียมาจากไหน?ใครสอนให้ทำ? คำตอบคือมันเป็นเรื่องบังเอิญ
บังเอิญ แรกคือเมื่อเดือนตุลาคมปีที่แล้ว ลูกสาวคนเล็กนัทลี (เพิ่งคลอดลูกชายชื่อดีแลน) ได้ของขวัญชิ้นหนึ่งซึ่งชอบมาก เป็น มอเตอร์ไซค์ทำจากผ้าอ้อมเด็ก ก็เลยส่งรูปมาให้แม่ดู ความรู้สึกแรกคือประทับใจกับคนทำ เพราะต้องตั้งใจกว่าจะได้ผลงานที่สวยแปลกตาแบบนั้น ไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อนเลย
บังเอิญ ที่สองคือ มีปัญหาเรื่องสุขภาพ เดือนมีนาคมที่ผ่านมาต้องผ่าตัดเปลี่ยนข้อสะโพก เดินเองไม่ได้อยู่สามเดือน ต้องใช้เครื่องช่วยเดิน ระหว่างนั้นไปไหนไม่ได้ ไม่สะดวก อึดอัดใจและเครียดมาก ลูกสาวคนโตมาริสา( มีลูกสองคน ปัณณ์ 6ขวบ ปิญญ์ 4ขวบ)ซึ่งคุ้นเคยและรู้จักของใช้ต่างๆของเด็กอ่อนเป็นอย่างดี จึงได้หาซื้ออุปกรณ์ในการทำการฝีมือ. ผ้าอ้อมและของใช้ต่างๆมาให้แม่เพื่อทำเล่นแก้เครียด
ช่วงสามเดือนนั้นได้ ลองทำผ้าอ้อมเป็นรูปแบบต่างๆ ปรากฏว่าเพลินและสนุกดี จึงเริ่มทำเป็นของขวัญให้ญาติและเพื่อนๆของลูกได้รับทั้งคำติชม และไอเดียเพิ่มเติมหลายอย่าง รวมถึงเสียงเชียร์ให้ทำขาย
ตอนแรกแค่ทำเล่นสนุกๆ แต่ตอนนี้ตั้งใจว่าจะจริงจังกับเบบี้เค็ก ถ้ามีคนสนใจมาก คงทำคนเดียวไม่ไหว ในอนาคตอาจหาแนวร่วมโดยการไปยังสถานสงเคราะห์บางแห่งเพื่อสร้างงาน สร้างรายได้ จะไปถึงจุดนั้นไหม?ยังตอบไม่ได้เพราะนี่แค่เป็นก้าวแรกของเราแค่นั้นเอง

Quite a few people have asked me, how and why did I start BangkokBabyCakes? What was my inspiration? Well, it's a matter of chance.
My daughter, Natalie, had just given birth to a beautiful baby boy named Dylan. and they received a lovely present. It was a motorcycle babycake. My initial thought was admiration for the person who made the babycake because it was both thoughtful and practical. I was sure the person put in much time and effort to make such a beautiful gift.
In 2013, I had a series of serious health issues and then on top of that I had to get hip replacement surgery. I'm usually a very strong active person, but this made me confined to my house for several months. During that time, I felt very stressed and demotivated. My other daughter, Marisa (mom to a 6 year old boy, Punn, and 4 year old girl, Pinn) wanted me to pick up a new hobby. Being very familiar with baby products, she bought me all sorts of diapers, wash cloths, onesies, receiving blankets and more, so that I could start making my own babycakes.
So, I made my first babycake. Then, I started making babycakes for my daughters' friends and some relatives. Then, I made some more. I came up with many different designs and then suddenly, BangkokBabyCakes was born. <www.bangkokbabycakes.com>
I started this because I enjoy making babycakes. My intention now is if this can grow into a proper business, I would like to share any future successes in partnership with certain charities and possibly help give others an opportunity to make a living. In any case, with your support, we will see what the future holds.
